18:37And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
18:37Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
18:38Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
18:38Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
18:38I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.
18:38And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
18:39And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.
18:39For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
18:39And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
18:39But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
18:40Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
18:40Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.
18:40And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.
18:40And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
18:41And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
18:41They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.
18:41Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
18:42And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
18:42So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
18:42Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
18:43And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
18:43Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.
18:43And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
18:44And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
18:44As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.
18:45And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
18:45The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.
18:46The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
18:46And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
18:47It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.
18:48He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
18:49Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.
18:50Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.
19:1And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah.
19:1And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
