41:54And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.

41:55And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.

41:56And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.

41:57And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.

42:1Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

42:1Now when Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, Jacob said unto his sons, Why do ye look one upon another?

42:1Then he brought me forth into the utter court, the way toward the north: and he brought me into the chamber that was over against the separate place, and which was before the building toward the north.

42:1Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

42:1(To the chief Musician, Maschil, for the sons of Korah.) As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

42:1Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near,

42:2He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.

42:2And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die.

42:2I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.

42:2And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us:)

42:2Before the length of an hundred cubits was the north door, and the breadth was fifty cubits.

42:2My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

42:3That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do.

42:3Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

42:3A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

42:3And Joseph's ten brethren went down to buy corn in Egypt.

42:3My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?

42:3Over against the twenty cubits which were for the inner court, and over against the pavement which was for the utter court, was gallery against gallery in three stories.

42:4He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

42:4When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.

42:4Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.

42:4Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

42:4But Benjamin, Joseph's brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said, Lest peradventure mischief befall him.

42:4And before the chambers was a walk of ten cubits breadth inward, a way of one cubit; and their doors toward the north.

42:5Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

42:5I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

42:5Then they said to Jeremiah, The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD thy God shall send thee to us.

42:5And the sons of Israel came to buy corn among those that came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan.

42:5Now the upper chambers were shorter: for the galleries were higher than these, than the lower, and than the middlemost of the building.

42:5Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

42:6Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

42:6For they were in three stories, but had not pillars as the pillars of the courts: therefore the building was straitened more than the lowest and the middlemost from the ground.

42:6And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.

42:6I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

42:6O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.

42:6Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.

42:7And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

42:7And the wall that was without over against the chambers, toward the utter court on the forepart of the chambers, the length thereof was fifty cubits.

42:7To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

42:7Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

42:7And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.

42:7And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah.

42:8Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

42:8For the length of the chambers that were in the utter court was fifty cubits: and, lo, before the temple were an hundred cubits.

42:8I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

42:8Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
