20:40And Jonathan gave his artillery unto his lad, and said unto him, Go, carry them to the city.
20:40And as thy servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king of Israel said unto him, So shall thy judgment be; thyself hast decided it.
20:40And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers.
20:41And when the men of Israel turned again, the men of Benjamin were amazed: for they saw that evil was come upon them.
20:41And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded.
20:41And he hasted, and took the ashes away from his face; and the king of Israel discerned him that he was of the prophets.
20:41And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.
20:41And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son?
20:42And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
20:42Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and them which came out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.
20:42And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
20:42And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.
20:42And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.
20:43Thus they inclosed the Benjamites round about, and chased them, and trode them down with ease over against Gibeah toward the sunrising.
20:43And the king of Israel went to his house heavy and displeased, and came to Samaria.
20:43Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
20:43Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
20:44David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?
20:44And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valour.
20:44Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field;
20:45And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them unto Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.
20:45And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.
20:45Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,
20:46Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
20:46So that all which fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these were men of valour.
20:46And all flesh shall see that I the LORD have kindled it: it shall not be quenched.
20:47But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness unto the rock Rimmon, and abode in the rock Rimmon four months.
20:47Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?
20:47Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
20:48And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to.
21:1Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
21:1Now the men of Israel had sworn in Mizpeh, saying, There shall not any of us give his daughter unto Benjamin to wife.
21:1Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee?
