Luke: 23

23:37And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.

23:37These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:

23:38And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

23:38Ira an Ithrite, Gareb an Ithrite,

23:38Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

23:38Moreover this they have done unto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.

23:38But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;

23:38Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.

23:39For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

23:39Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:

23:39Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.

23:39And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

23:39For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus have they done in the midst of mine house.

23:39Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.

23:40And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.

23:40But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

23:40And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far, unto whom a messenger was sent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, paintedst thy eyes, and deckedst thyself with ornaments,

23:40And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.

23:41And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

23:41And satest upon a stately bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon thou hast set mine incense and mine oil.

23:41And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.

23:42And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

23:42Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:

23:42And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.

23:43And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

23:43Then said I unto her that was old in adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms with her, and she with them?

23:43That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

23:44And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

23:44Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women.

23:44And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD.

23:45And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.

23:45And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.

23:46For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.

23:46And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

23:47And the company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.

23:47Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.

23:48And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.

23:48Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.

23:49And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.

23:49And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

23:50And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:

23:51(The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.

23:52This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.

23:53And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.

23:54And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.

23:55And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.

23:56And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

24:1Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?

24:1Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

24:1And it came to pass, when Saul was returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, Behold, David is in the wilderness of Engedi.
